About us -
Established in the fall of 2008 after several of us at our yacht club had one or more engines running hotter than we'd like. Two of the boats were overheating to the point they would shut down at cruising speed. Neither of us really wanted to go to the expense of having a mechanic come down, remove heat exchangers and hope that was the problem after being cleaned and reinstalled.
After several weeks of researching different procedures people had used, I discovered Rydlyme Marine and discussed the product and procedures at length with the company's engineers. Equipment was purchased and the process resolved each and every issue the different boats had. Subsequently, I've done a few other boats with a 100% success rate.
I am retired after having been trapped in the telecommunications industry for 38 years, with excessive travel, etc., while always having a desire to work around the water.
I've been an avid yachtsman for over 40 years and have enjoyed maintaining the boats I've owned. While not proficient in everything as I'd like to be, I've managed to accomplish most everything with calling in a mechanic or support on very rare occasion.
While seriously considering establishing the business, I have spoken with many people throughout the industry. I have found that most mega-yachts have descaling systems and controls installed to perform this process routinely. My counterparts in Florida and other southeastern states have found themselves inundated with requests.
I've discovered the process and product I use is recommended by Caterpillar and Yanmar before tearing down an engine to address overheating problems. The US Coast Guard also utilizes this product and procedure.
We would be happy to discuss our services with you. We take great pride in performing our work with utmost professionalism and in treating your boat as if it were our own.
